A Fun Fishing Trip to the Coast of North Carolina With a Friend

Last September, I went on a fishing trip to the coast of North Carolina with a friend and his father and grandfather. It was the first time I had ever been fishing in the ocean, despite having fished in lakes, ponds, and rivers numerous times in my life. We fished from my a boat owned by my friend's father, the boat was about 25 feet long and we were taking out for a last time before it was winterized and put into storage until Spring. According to the people at the marina, there were decent amounts of trout, carp and whitefish in the waters. Luck I'd packed some carp tackle with me! The area we were fishing in was part of the inter-coastal waterway, and as a result, there were a few large ships that could be seen during our trip. It was a fairly chilly day, and late in the fishing season, but there were still numerous people out fishing, both on the coast and in boats. Despite hours of trying, we only caught two small fish I suppose the waters have been over-fished.
